Another nice find that I pulled off hundredthmeridian ultimate rarities folder last night was Butt's Wigglin' 'acoustic' (it is not really acoustic to me but sounds like it might be from cbc or something)
I got to wondering why it was that I practically forgot how wicked this song is.
I then realized that I couldnt really recall anything in my bootleg collection (about 50 shows) that has Butts Wigglin. (or at least in my recent spins that i remember.. I am sure i have it on a boot or two....)
I then checked out the song catalogue and see they have only played it a total of 43 times i think it was.
When is/are the last time(s) they played this one? and who has been lucky enough to hear it live? what boot or boots might be the best ones?
any comments really...

There's a pretty awesome version on the 1996 Kanata, Corel Centre bootleg. I agree Butts Wigglin is an incredible song. Other than that I haven't heard it on to many other boots. Wouldn't it be great if they pulled that one out for the Juno's.

ok I think I have the Kanata show.
seems to me the quality wasnt that great tho....so i dont think that one has been in the player much...

If I'm not mistaken the only time Butts Wigglin was played was on The Henhouse tour. Lots of people hate that song here but I've liked it since the first time I heard it when the Brain Candy soundtrack came out.
This song, and Henhouse for that matter have such a cool vibe to it. More than any other Hip album it sounds to me like they are jamming in someones basement. Maybe it's because it was the first time they recorded in their own studio.

I can't say I'm a fan of the song myself. One of the few post-EP Hip tunes that doesn't get a 4 or 5 star rating from me in iTunes (which is my way of saying it rarely gets played at my house/office/car). But I always like to see it when songs that aren't my faves are enjoyed by others. :thumb:

Butts Wigglin, OK, not brilliant...but I want to endorse this outta-nowehere, apropos-of-nothing attack on 'Springtime in Vienna,' which to me always lacked punch (maybe 'cos 'we'll live to survive our paradoxes' is too abstract a punchline); although it works better live, especially when Gord expectorates a dramatic 'yeeaaah' just as the band hits the chorus.
Why Gord rates that as among his favourite tracks, I'll never know.

Wigglin' rocks live in a VUndrgrnd mixed with FITHole kinda barrage. Johny's drums thunderize and the boys really rip up the guitar. They need to bring this one all back to me the next time they come 'round.
