Hey all,
Just heard from Bookie on 102.1 in Toronto, that the Hip have recorded new material which will be available on their (what he claimed was) thier dvd/greatest hits cd combo. He did not give a release date however. He also talked a little about the Juno/HoF gig and the backing out of Dan Akroyd (no reason given), and the biggest news was that the Hip are only confirmed (so far) for one date this year, and that is in Newfoundland, later on this year. Didn't give a date or even timeframe. Take it for what it's worth.

Dear the Tragically Hip.
If you do release a package, please do not put the dvd in the back of a cd case. It is a pet peeve of mine to not have a proper dvd case.

Hey guys, my sister told me she saw a commercial on ctv that promoted ctv "hanging with the hip" tonite. Unfrotunately, she thought it said 7:30pm, but i think jeopardy is normally on then. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

I SPECULATE that its etalk daily doing a feature, interview whatever. I have no idea if this is the case. Primetime is American Idol and 2 hour Amazing Race tonight so it won't be in primetime. Check your local listings for the etalk daily station nearest you! 7PM and 1230AM in Toronto on CFTO as per online listings. No description of the episode.

Having watched the E-talk thing, if you didn't see it, you didn't miss much. It was cheesily done, basically about their chances of winning group of the year, and they worked the script with certain videos, i.e. To compete with this year's crop, the boys will need (Gord sings courage), but not to worry, the veterans are still (Gord sings ahead by a century).
However, there was some old videos used that you dont see anymore, plus some footage from old interviews and concerts, including wheat kings for milgaard, and one show where Gord has a particularly shaggy beard going that I never knew he had.

The shaggy-beard-Gord bit was from Heksenketel. And while Hip content is always good, this wasn't exactly anything new. (And yet friggin' NICKELBACK gets a whole profile episode!)
