has anyone here participated in any WhatIfSports leagues? i've been checkin out all the free trial leagues, and i kinda like em, not enough that i see myself actually paying to be in a full season, although you can win stuff.

my first attempt was hockey, and i finished right in the middle of the pack with my all habs team, problem with them was that they weren't well rounded enough, i fucked up my draft, and also, i didn't know you could edit your lines til half way through lol.

next i tried the baseball, which is a bit trickier, because you have to manage your pitching staff. i had a kick ass all yankees team that finished 2nd, and probably would've taken first if it'd had a little stronger pitching (1990 Randy Johnson = waste of money), oh well, i learned a bit more from the experience, and the next edition of the yankees i put together will be even better.

and currently, i'm in an NFL league, with, you guessed it... MY ALL DOLPHINS TEAM! WHOOOO! This one looks like the best of the three. they won their first game yesterday against the "Steelers", and they're currently up 10-0 at half time on the "Hummdingers", GO PHINS GO! it's be nice to actually finish 1st in one of these things.

I've been tempted to join a few times but just haven't had the time. Sounds pretty interesting though.

you draft a team of whoever you want from whenever you want, there's a salary cap, once you've drafted your team you wait for the league to fill up, they set the schedule, and then they sim the games. you can only do one trial league (of each sport) per month. in the free trials you can't trade or sign anyone once your season starts, so you should try to use as much of your $ as possible. it's kinda fun to see how your fantasy team does, and it helps fill a little bit of the void left by the NHL.

ps: MY MIAMI DOLPHINS ARE STILL UNDEFEATED AT 2-0!

and seeing as the footbal trial is "pre-season", and there's only 4 games, this means the worst that i can finish is .500! WHOOHOO!
