Get this. I am sitting in my hotel in Vegas yesterday, packing my stuff to check out. I get out of the shower and my gal has Regis and Kelly on. It is actually that Simon guy from American Idol and Kelly. They are chatting away and mention that the butler from Joe Millionaire will be out next (wow, American TV is special, isnt it?) Anyway, they begin to fade to commercial and the background music is "Darkest One" by the Hip. What? I say. I wait, and when they return, sure enough, there it is again..."Where the wild are strong...and the strong are the darkest ones"... For a second I think....Did they do a cover? Is this the original by someone else?...I keep listening...it's the Hip!
What do you make of that?

Now that I think of it. Maybe I do want them to make it big in the States. I sure do love going to those small venues down there, but for the fellas sake, they deserve to have all kinds of dough.

The guys have worked so hard over the years. I would love to see it, everyone show hear there music and see them perform. The Hip put on one of the best live shows in the world. I would not think for one minute that they are selling out or anything like that.

And yes, Sure I would love to keep The Hip hidden from everyone, but we can't keep them down anymore.

Well I am glad I heard about Canada's best kept secret I couldn't believe it when we traveled to Ohio (from Buffalo) that noone had even heard of the Hip there. They could walk around Cleveland freely and noone would even know....(well except those of us that were there for them )

haha, i noticed that too on regis and kelly(the GF was watching it, not me i am not sure if they will go big in the states... I am a big Dave Matthews Band Trader and I have tried to push my dmb trader friends to start collecting the hip(they are all american) but many of them don't care for them for some reason... i tell them to just listen to them a few more times before you give an opinion like that... ugh..that is so frustrating when people won't even give them a chance!! I do think if they were going to become big here they would have already. There are a few of us in the states that absolutely love them though!!

Hello all Hip fans!! I also agree the Hip should huge in the U.S. The reason they aren't huge in the U.S. is because you have to have a certain look. That is to bad for the hip because they are a kick ass band. With all the Britney Spears crap and the bull shit my momma beat me when I was little heavy metal bands there really isn't room for a really talented blues-rock&roll kinda band. That's why I love living next to Canada. I get a crap load of good radio stations from Canada that play the Hip. Peace!!!

Wheatkings20, I'm from Nothern New York also and thats one of the best parts. I love the fact that i can get the canadian stations and hear the Hip. Its true there are many dedicated fans who love the Hip in the US but our culture is to fake to ever let the Hip be as big as it is in Canada. To much disgusting pop culture down here. I'm form Cape Vincent New York and speak out for the Hip. In the past two years I've fallen in love w/ the music. Its seems to be the best outlet in my life. I turned 18 in January and i hope to see the Hip for many many more years.
