um, i'm not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing but i was watching the OC tonight (dont ask why) and in the background they were playing Sam Roberts.
and not one of the songs you'd expect, it was No Sleep (the song that's partially in french) thats probably my favorite song on the album.
i was just really surprised to hear it

No Sleep is a great song, right up there with Medicine Man and S-O-C-I-A-L-I-S-M IMO.

I've only seen pictures of the cast, but I already know this would be a show I'd watch on mute... so I'd miss Sam all together... but then I really wouldn't want to be thinking about him while I'm... watching.

Music of the OC update:
A girl I work with is a huge fan of this stupid show (in fact, I don't know a girl who isn't), and she swears she heard the Hip's "Vaccination Scar" playing in the background of an episode a few weeks ago. She said it was during a scene in a bar, but I still don't believe it. She probably heard an Interpol song and thought it was Gord Downie. Apparently their singer sounds a bit like our man Gord. From what I can gather though, the show prides itself on featuring unknown "indie rock" bands, and I guess the Hip would be considered indie enough in the U.S. to be featured on the show. They are on Rounder Records after all, which is about as indie as you can get in the States. So who knows?
