I've seen threads like this catch on on other discussion boards. Whenever you have a random thought, idea about the Hip. . whatever that isn't quite thread worthy. Just post it in here. Answer, respond, ask. . whatever.
My thought of the day: I can't stop listening to Escape is at Hand for the Travellin Man. I've listened to it no less than 5-10 times every day for the last week.

That's weird. Escape has been in my head all this week. Maybe it's some sort of Hipbase kumbayatic experience...

It's just this week. I've heard it tons of times before. Then this week it just hit me. It'll stop eventually.

I take the bus to work, and there's one really loud guy who usually rides the same bus and broadcasts his political and philosophical views at the top of his lungs. He'd drive me crazy even if I agreed with him, and I don't. So I finally broke down and joined the ranks of Discman-listening commuters this week. So far I have discovered that (a) loudmouthed bus passengers are no match for Live Between Us, and (b) I'm in a much more positive frame of mind when I get to work, even on days when the loudmouth isn't on the bus with me.
Believing this warrants further study, I am now investigating the soothing/blocking properties of Phantom Power. So far the signs are encouraging.

My eight month old daughter started to clap her hands today for the first time, to... you guessed it.... Poets.
Random thought.

Listening to a discman when you are going about your daily routine pretty much makes everything better.

There are neon dance lesson flyers attached to lamp posts in downtown Ottawa.
Once says: "BALLROOM" and I of course always begin humming "You're Everywhere"
Another says: "FLAMENCO"
I just can't get these guys outta my head.

If they could turn one rant or extra part of a song into a new song on the upcoming album I hope it's the "please give me second place" part from the end of Ahead By A Century on the recent tour. I love that. Also the drink till you drop part from the London show at the end of Lake Fever is pretty awesome as well.

I was watching CSI a few months back and they blew something up. Someone yelled, "Fire in the hole!!" and of course, the night started getting cold.

That's so funny! I think I remember that thread. Perhaps it has remained in my subconscious!! Crazy.

This thread was a good idea. I've been lurking, but thought this was a good opportunity for my first post.
Can't seem to remember who "Escape" is thought to be about...
I thought maybe it was the guy from Massive Attack(?) but I'm not sure...
Can someone help? Thanks.

There's a mystery writer I like named Carolyn Wheat who has not only written a book called Mean Streak, her New York character is originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
