I just picked up this disc on a whim and all I can say about it is HOLY SHIT!!! What an album.....are they are getting any airplay outside of Niagara Falls/Toronto??

I don't know about airplay, but they rock don't they? I got to hear them on the radio tonnes when the Rock Search contest put on by 97.7 in St. Catharines was on...which The Trews won.

I've loved these guys ever since I saw them play at the Kingston show in September. They blew my minds. The only band to have ever blown me away so efficiently on stage was The Hip. Seriously, The Trews rock.

My sister turned me on to them last Christmas (2003) and that disc is wicked... Then I arrive at school, and first night is the big frosh week show, headlined by the Trews... Had a tiny little stage and they rocked! Awesome, awesome live performance. They really know how to rock a crowd... And the songs are really good too... Here's hoping that they give us a good follow-up album

Yeah, I saw them at the UPEI bar and they were fantastic. Great energy and they played a long show. Did a cool cover of "The Weight". They finished the night with Zep's "Whole Lotta Love". I also saw them at the Festival of Lights concert on the Charlottetown waterfront last summer. They were great again. Saw Live the next night and they were very good also. The Trews have also been known to cover "Wheat Kings".!!!! OH YEAH!!

OH YEAH!!They broke into Hundredth Meridian in the middle of Hollis and Mortis at the Acadia show... Pretty good too, especially cause the singer just stuck to the way he always sings, and didn't try to sound like Gord... Very cool...

Showing some more respect for the Hip with Meridian! NICE!!! I'm impressed with Colin's voice, as it's very strong. I didn't care for the Trews too much until I saw them live. Their album doesn't seem to be mixed all that great.

The Trews at the ECMA's with Gordie Johnson on stage with them. GREAT STUFF!!!!! Great performance.

Saw them at Foxfest in Vancouver last april...for their last number they did "Tired of Waiting", complete with an 8 minute behind the back blow your mind solo from John-Angus. Without a doubt, my second favourite band.

not a fan of these guys at all...there songs are repetitive and dull..they so don' t rock.
glad a canadian band is getting some hype though, just wish it was a band that was cool....say by divine right?

i'll echo that statement, and add that The Illuminati, C'mon, Statues, Wintersleep, Kary, Black Rice, The Sourkeys, or even Death From Above deserve airplay/hype over the Trews, because, The Trews suck.

The live disc that was added to their latest re-release of "House Of Ill Fame" is well worth $15. The "Hey Jude" and blasting openning medly of "When You Leave" and "Black Halo" are killer.

Yeah, everyone has their own tastes. CMON are alright. BDR are alright but I wouldn't say they are better than the Trews. Music shouldn't really be compared though. Let me just say that both BDR and the Trews are good. I haven't heard much of the other bands you mentioned except for a little bit of C'MON. Blurton is a talented man but I'm not into his music as much as others.
