BEST QB EVER!
and at least he got to the Superbowl, more than Manning will ever be able to claim.

do you realize the hypocrisy of accusing me of having no respect and then dragging petty personal issues into a thread dedicated to respecting and honouring someone, and thus besmirching the thread?

i have to say, and not just because im a huge steve young fan, but dan marino in my mind is not even close to being the best QB ever..and i think it's sad for steve young that he'll get overrshadowed by dan and this whole thing...young's career as a starter, started late, and ended early, and he holds some pretty impressive numbers...and he wouldn't pussy-foot around like marino..or lay the blame on somebody else..am i saying steve young is the greatest of all time? of course not..as a niners fan, he's my favorite of all time, but let's face it...Joe was the best.. 4 super bowls, 4 wins..no INT's

Hey did you guys do the whole Dolphins-Bills bet on another board??? Or is this just coincidence?? I typed "dan marino is overrated" into Google because I wanted to see why ANYBODY would think that (I couldn't find anybody willing to list reasons), and I found this:

The challenge has been put on the table for anyone to accept....
If the Bills beat the Dolphins you have to use an avatar that says "Dan Marino is overrated, Dolphins suck" for a week
If the Dolphins beat the Bills...well then you get to make up something clever for me to use as an avatar for a week

we're talking about SUPERBOWLS, not championships, so it's still 1-0 Dolphins, nice try though.

Right on :thumb:
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Marino and Young are both highly regarded qb's and both very deserved of first ballot inductions. Marino had perhaps the best rookie season ever. He had the broadest shoulders...Young/Montana had Rice and a consistent running game...Young was a running qb. Marino never....EVER...had a consistent running game and he couldn't run out of a wet paper bag...He was a pure passer.
Daniel Constantine Marino, Jr. . .Miami's first round pick, 1983. . .Most prolific passer in NFL history – career statistics include 4,967 completions, 8,358 attempts for 61,343 yards, and 420 touchdowns. . .First player ever to pass for 5,000 yards in a season, threw then-record 48 TDs, 1984. . .Recorded thirteen 3,000-yard seasons. . .First or second team All-Pro eight times. . .All-AFC six times. . . . .Selected to nine straight Pro Bowls
