So as I continue to try and get boots for all the shows i've been to (thanks meridian)
I've began to notice something that is so obvious Im not sure if its true...so anyways, simple question:
Does every hip show start with Gordie saying "hello"?

seems like it, he just wants everyone to feel welcome :jump
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”
I Don't remember hello. They just kicked in to Everywhere in CP. Then again, I think he did say "hi"

I've noticed that the "hello" doesn't necessarily open the concert, but it is often the first thing Gord *says* rather than sings. I obviously have too much time on my hands to think about such things

First time I saw them (Fillmore, Henhouse tour) he walked up the the mike, wiping his eyes and asked us to stop because we were going to make him cry.

10d, thats hilarious...I'd love to hear that if is on a bootleg!!
I don't know about Hello but has anybody noticed he says "...if we could..." ALL THE TIME?!? My sister first noticed many years ago when I was listening to Live Between Us. I just never noticed, everything he says is cool. Ever since then I've noticed how often he says "We'd like to do a song now if we could..." and I'm like...it's your show, buddy, do whatever you want.
I think he could bend over and talk out of his ass like Jimm Carrey and we'd still worship him, so no "if we could" needed.

The "HELLO" is legendary. I answer certain phone calls with this greeting in my best Gord impersonation. "Hello" "Thanks,...Thanks a lot" as only GORD CAN DO!!!!!!! OH YEAH!

IMO the best occurence of blatant Gord sarcasm was on one of the 2003 GD bootlegs (DC, perhaps?) where after a song there's a smattering of cheers and claps from the crowd, and Gord says "thanks folks, i really appreciate it" in the smarmiest, snottiest voice I've ever heard him use. It's hilarious.

I'm pretty sure Gord means well with his "Thanks a lot".
It's funny because at the show in Sydney,NS Gord says "that's a nice clap, clap all you want" and I thought it was great. My buddy tells me Gord was making fun of all the clappers. I still think Gord likes the clapalong but maybe he is being sarcastic!! Either way it's cool!!!!
