i just bought my 4 Kiss bobbleheads and eyeing up the rolling stones ones.
these are real cool hand painted boobleheads. {err bobbleheads}
{guess whats on my mind!}

i think if the hip put out these they would be a huge hit.
say what you want about kiss but they are the kings of getting every last penny out of there fans. from caskets to condoms they got it.
not that i want the hip to market condoms but they certainly have rtoom to expand. :mrgreen:

Man, if the Hip start emulating KISS, be afraid. Be very afraid. Just like you've said, that band really won't go away until they've sucked every last penny from their fans. What are they in? Year eight of their farewell tour? {{Is it obvious I loathe KISS?}}

Everyone has their own taste in music, I think it would be a grave mistake to start emulating Kiss in the marketing arena. Those guys probably wont disband permanently till they are on their deathbed and even then you have tons of tribute bands(dwarves, female versions, etc, ad naseum). Not to mention Gene Simmons being the most arrogant, pinheaded and egotistical front man ever.

Hip bobbleheads might be a little too "commercial" for my liking, unless they weren't exactly bobbleheads...
Gordie's would have to be a bobblehand...holding a "worthless little bag of bells" his hand would wobble and bobble at the end of his arm.
Even though he seems to have given up smoking, Paul's statuette would have a bobblesmoke...dangling from his lips a half-smoked cigarette would bounce about while his head stayed motionless, oblivious to any contrails of smoke that might waft upward into his eyes.
The way he boogies down onstage, Sinclair's would have have a bobblebutt...endless swaying and bouncing in time to any rhythm that may or may not be present.
Johnny's of course, would have bobblearms...wailing violently as he "beats his drums like an enemy".
As for Robby, well maybe his would indeed be more of a bobblehead but altered a bit to be a bobblehair...to capture the whipping locks flailing about his head when he's in the same groove as Sinclair.
:lol:
When I was into the weed, I thoroughly appreciated the THC (The Hip Club, for any newbies) rolling papers as did my unHipnitiated friends who thought THC stood for the obvious until I explained the true meaning.
Really, the best marketing angle would be to continue to put on killer shows with reasonable ticket prices. Maybe with a little more frequency and with a few more of the intimate Q&A type sessions they've done in limited numbers.
Window decals would be a tasty item, though. I'm not talkin' little 5 x 7 stickers, but large vynily decals that would fill the rear window or stretch across the visor area of the windshiled! One of these days I'll order my custom window graphics to compliment my license plate and monogrammed DashMat!
Does anyone agree that a cool big-ass Hip logo would immediatley adorn their auto-glass?

Scott... you should call these guys, www.vehiclewraps.ca and just get your car wrapped completely.
Q107 (popular radio station here in Toronto) are having a contest right now where they will wrap the winners car in the classic rock icons of their choice.

I've always seen Kiss as the Monkee's of the 70's. They're more a marketing vehicle than a band, no? Just one notch above Spinal Tap?
I think the Hip and their management have missed some serious marketing opportunities throughout the years... but I do mean serious opportunities, let Kiss keep the bobbleheads.
But I would of course be the first in line... Maybe if Gord had a longer tongue.

The stickers that came with the PP album were the best easy to use and see marketing tool the Hip came up with, in my opinion. I slapped one of those puppies on my old car and had alot of friends, co-workers and neighbors ask about it. now that I think about, a Hip bobblehead collection would be pretty cool if it was along the lines of Scott's suggestion. You could have it on your dash or in your home :thumb:

Oh man, my imagination's on overload; the possibilities are endless! I've seen radio station vans "wrapped" like that but always assumed it was a high-end paint job. One o' these days...

VioletlightHeron, What stickers came with Phantom Power?
I got one in my Music@Work, but I do not remember one in PP.

I can't remember if it came with the CD or if I got it at a show, but click on the pic on
this page at Chris's Hipfans memorabilia site to see the PP sticker.

The sticker I slapped on my car was this one: http://memorabilia.hipfans.com/pictures/listings/53.jpg
It may be from M@W, I could be getting the albums mixed up :oops:
