I've got the TV on, I don't even know what station. I'm doing laundry and it's in the background. I hear "September 17, for a girl I know it's mother's day ...". Two minutes later, I hear "It's too hot to sleep. Let's gather round the fan. We can't do nothing bout the heat ..."
Finally, I have to find out what's on, so I go over to the TV and hit the INFO button on my remote ...
any guesses?

Do you have Satellite? Like with those 24 hour music radio channels?
I can't imagien where else would play an obscure Gord solo song...

MMM Profile?
Although lately the Rock Digital music station has been playing a lot of Hip, but I can't see them playing two songs back-to-back, especially a GD solo track like that.

I figured I'd just end the suspense. I know it was killing me.
The movie was a short film called "I Shout Love", written, and directed by Sarah Polley. It's about, from what I could glean by jumping in in the middle of its 38 minute runtime and having to run out the door about 6 minutes later, a girl who's trying to prevent her boyfriend from breaking up with her by asking him to come over to her place one last time and letting her film their last night together.
So, yeah, it had Fiddler's Green and Lofty Pines in the soundtrack. Sarah must be a huge Hip fan.

I knew this movie was out.
I just never realized that it was on TV already.

could've been on The Movie Network (think HBO?); I'm not sure what channel I had on. The movie is from 2001 in any event.
Now I've had Lofty Pines in my head since yesterday.
