Man, I remember the good old days when the show "Egos & Icons" used to feature bands or artists that actually made real contributions to music and had some kind of lasting impact. Not surprisingly, it looks like the corporate dipshits at Muchmusic have thrown the original concept of the show right out the window. Tonight's episode: Simple Plan. I'm not kidding. Simple freakin' Plan. I guess in order to become an icon these days all you have to do is release 2 albums full of bland, generic, watered-down mall-punk with lyrics that sound like they were written by a 12-year old, and presto! Instant icon status! Lord help us.

The really sad thing is, when George leaves, the only other vj with some musical knowledge, is Narduar.

Remember when VJs would actually be there for a few years? Now it seems like whenever I turn MM on, there's some knob whom I've never seen before. I get the impression that if you are 18, you've got no brain, and you love Simple Charlotte, you could walk down to MM today and be VJ for a few hours.
I didn't want to become one of those "IN MY DAY" guys, but I do really miss the MM of Znaimer/Donlon days. They were a little more original than purchasing crap MTV programming and shoving it down our throats.
Please tell me there aren't any more Simpson siblings. Between the big-breasted bimbo and the ugly no matter how much makeup you put on her lip syncer, I've had enough to last the rest of my lifetime.

Sook-Yin was great, along with George & Rachel Perry...now I look at MUCH, and I'm like wow, MTV USA has found a new home up north...i agree a new station needs to be started with vjs who know their music knowledge.

I had a crush on Erica Ehm when I was a kid, those were the good old days indeed. I liked that show with the fat guy host where you hit the buzzer on your helmet, cant remember his name. :?

Dan Gallagher was the host, and the show was called Test Pattern. He passed away a couple of years ago.
John Gallagher is/was a sportscaster on CityTV - not sure if they are related, although it seems probable.

I actually like Bill Wylichka (spelling?) he does really interesting interviews. So many VJ's ask such lame questions like "whats your fav color" he actually asks pretty interesting stuff. You can tell the people he interviews seems to like him too. Seems to ask questions they have never been asked before.
Erica Ehm, don't get me started, man I couldn't stand her, all she did was talk about Madonna and how great she was...............blah, blah, blah.
Now Angela Dhorman (again spelling?)....she was hot. She went on to bigger and better things though, was even on Seinfield (the white girl who thought she was chinese) and was a regulr for a bit on The Drew Carrey Show.
