I'll be getting mine this weekend. I fired up the original, just to get the rust off. I still can't go very far on the diety level (or whatever the hardest setting is). Master chief is da man. I also want to get fable. anyone try it yet?
I've not opted for the xbox live yet. Is halo a live enabled game? How does it work...player vs player, or can you do the actually levels in a team format? I guess I can easily go look this up huh? my bad.

I have played Fable, its a great looking game and the gameplay is great and has a good story to it, the only beefs I had was a) it was too short( I beat it in less than 20 hours of gameplay, which in my opinon is too short) b) it wasnt much of a challenge to beat it. You would be better off buying Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, amazing game! :thumb:

Bought mine this lunch hour....and it comes with a 2-month free subscription to X-box live for all that want to try the online gaming experience. Well at least the special edition version in the hard metal case does anyways. Can't wait to get it home and test the waters!

Yes, emoticons are helpful...
Well the game is spectacular. The new weapons and new vehicles are very cool. I played some slayer online and there wasn't any lag whatsoever. I was skeptical that Bungie could pull that off, after having experienced quite a few lag issues with Rainbow Six. Halo is so much more frantic with so many more things moving around on the screen at once (particularly using Needlers), but Bungie somehow did it. Geniuses!
I also spent a couple hours moving through the single-player campaign. The story and the cinematics are unprecedented. Right now I'm up to the part where you have to play as a Covenant Elite commander ("the Arbitor") trying to track down and kill some Covenant "heretics". The dialog among my squad of Covenant fighters is so well done, it's a blast to hear them talk to each other and to me.
It looks like Bungie took everything that made the first Halo great and improved upon it without taking anything away or screwing anything up. The "feel" of the controls is unchanged, which is definitely a good thing.
Man, this game is fun

Played Halo 2 for the first time last night with some X-box junkies. I had absolutely no Halo experience going in, and needless to say, I wore my ass for a hat. Seems I had the best luck riding around on the Ghost, splattering people.
