While I really enjoy video games, I don't care for the GTA series at all. I think they all should be banned because of the content and the message it sends to kids. Yes, it's a mature rated game but we all know that kids will play it just because of that, regardless of what their parents say or do (if they do anything at all).

I myself play violent video games such as Doom3, CoD, MoH, UT etc but I think that a game that promotes someone breaking the law, killing police officers, beating up women with baseball bats is going way over the line. Each year or time a game like this is made it has to increase the gore factor or shock value to one-up the previous game or the competition. Where does it end?

I hear what you're saying, and I certainly wouldn't let my young kids play it (if I had any), but you're embarking on a slippery slope if you think it should be banned outright.

Who decides what gets banned? Is it a government agency that oversees all entertainment and decides what it will "allow" to be sold to the public? No thank you my friend.

Stores already do a very good job of not selling or renting this game to kids. It's ultimately up to the parents to do the rest. My friend works at a GameStop store, and just the other day he had a lady come in with her kid, bitching up and down about the violence in this game, and "what has our society become", etc...then as soon as she's done with her rant she buys the f*cking game for her 12 year old brat! :nooooo

i agree 100%. it isn't the game. it is the parenting. no kid who has decent parents is going to play GTA and say to himself "i think i will go out and kill a cop because i just played GTA".

I am the manager of an EB games. Do you know how many parents came in with their under 17 year old kids to get this game. We will NOT sell this to ANYONE under 17. There is more F words in this game than a chris rock stand up act.!

When we tell the parents this, their response is usually the same "Well thats the real world" , or " Well he hears it everywhere else" or " He going to play the gmae somewhere else anyway"

This game is meant for young adults and adults, it is the parents responsilbity to filter out these M rated games. There are ALOT of good parents out there. We have had alot of unopened GTA returned by parents whom said that the game is not for them.. bravo...

AND YES... THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST PS2 GAME EVER!

as an xboxer I have only just had the ability to purchase it and as a parent of two...my wife would leave me faster than chiken shit through a greased tin horn if I brought home one of these games. I've played it at a friends and I am sure I would have hours of endless fun with it...but that's life

As I heard on the radio this morning, "If playing GTA or Halo is going to turn my kid into a serial killer, I'm going to get them playing Madden so they can become Pro-football players!"

Poor parenting is the cause here, as it is with most of the problems facing the youth of today.

I grew up on all video games, as I am sure most of us here did. Of course there were always messed up games from Leisure Suit Larry to Mortal Kombat - 2 games one with sex and the other with death - and grizzly death kills (hey shut up bitch, I am trying to write on the computer) sorry my wife interrupted.
I do not think that games messed with my life/mind at all.

haha... that's great. I'm so sick of hearing that these games and movies are the cause of kids being idiots.
