Sorry girl...

Was just watching the wonderful videos Chris put up for all of us..and I have a question??? What is Gord apologizing for in twist my arm? I've heard him do it dozens of times, so it must reference something?? Does he actually say sorry girl?

Yup. He's saying sorry to a horse. The "shooting" of the broken-down mare in the song. In the vid you see his finger gun briefly. Usually accompanied by Gord saying boom!

Absolute killer video. It's a ranting, raving Gord - total brilliance.

Absolutely! When Gord breaks out the finger-pistol and goes "sorry, girl" I'm always reminded of when the kid has to shoot Old Yeller.

I wonder if the broken down mare is the same one on the album cover?

It is a great video...That video can go into the Mullet Museum of fine art. I must admit, after years of hearing this song...I never referenced the lyrics...I had them all wrong. I thought it said spring time hash, smoking my stash, (sorry girl) like an apology to his wife or something. I feel kinda dumb.
