Not when you consider their respective fanbases. They spoke to the youth. We can judge once we know how Adam is perceived in ten years.

You should play Toll Booth on the radio... it would be six seconds long after edits.

six seconds if i'm lucky...but i still don't agree with the comparison...carlin is still going, and his older stuff is still relevant...i can't see people looking back on little nicky very fondly....

However, if you just take their initial albums and consider the impact on the youth of that time and in that era (Not everybody liked it, but where I grew up: everybody knew it) then the comaprison fits.

Legacy is for history to judge, but during their time: "Ten words..." and much of Sandler's "There all gunna laugh at you" occupied the same spot as sophmoric king of the party scene.

We see Carlin different now, we might see Adam the same way soon... although like I said, probably with a little less reverence.

however, i don't think that's what he wants us to remember him by..carlin is by definition a stand up...sandler is now a movie star...the only good album he had was his first, the next ones are all crap..and let's face it..sandler's movies aren't that great...(however..props to him for punch drunk love...)

I'll agree with you on that, Sandler's movie's, save for Punch Drunk Love, were mostly dogs.

And I did like Carlin in "Jay and Silent Bob."
