hall of fame?
#1

I dont know if anyone's ever touched on this subject, but I was thinking about how BIG the Hip is in Canada, somewhat in the US and some other countries. Does anyone think they'll make it into the rock n' roll hall of fame? I imagine most of us think they should be there, being huge fans. Im not sure what the criteria is for induction but I think they deserve a place in the hall, among all the greats. :thumb:

While I believe such a solid blues-rock band should definitely be considered, you pretty much need to make huge waves in the US if you want to be considered. Since The Hip can't sell larger venues than small clubs and auditoriums in the US, I think that pretty much eliminates them from the running. Neil Young is Canadian and made it in, but signed to a company south of the border and was huge in America. Likewise, I believe the Guess Who have also been inducted. It will be interesting to see if Rush is also. They certainly deserve it.

I see the Hip getting into the Canadian music hall of Fame but not the US one. They are not big enough down there to be considered, unfortunately
