Sunday: Terry's gift is forever green...
#1

This Sunday in 50+ countries and hundreds of locations around the world, the 24th annual Terry Fox Run takes place.

In the summer of 1980, Terry ran a marathon a day, every day. He did it with one leg, and unbeknownst to him at the time: with mankind’s most ruthless illness running through his body. He did it for noble and selfless reasons. He personally raised over 25 million dollars before the disease he was running against, suddenly ended his Marathon of Hope; and shortly after: his life.

“Hero” is a phenomenal understatement.

Courage came for him, as it does for thousands of newly diagnosed patients every year, but as far as Cancer is concerned: it doesn’t matter.

You can run, walk or cycle this year, or you can donate via the Terry Fox Foundation website. www.terryfoxrun.org.

Hope to see ya out there.

It was Terry's day again today.

What an amazing individual. There was really something special about him.

Pick up a copy of Terry Fox: His Story by Leslie Scrivner if you can. After reading it I feel pretty stupid complaining about the little things in my life.

He, and all other people living with any type of cancer is/and are my hero(es).

This was the 27th running of the Terry Fox run, not the 24th.

My brother is a Terry's team member, and once again we ran it. I was a little dissapointed with the turnout, considering the sweet weather in Edmonton/Strathcona County, but the people who were there were enthusiastic and happy to run!

If that was in response to Dame's post, it was 3 years old.

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

Oops  I wasn't paying attention either actually! I assumed it was a post from 2006. Oh well, in any case, the meaning behind the day is still the same.
