Check your Inbox... I PM'd you.

The show is on a Sunday, in the afternoon. As such, there will be no partyin' for this guy. Team Canada needs me in top form on the Saturday night beforehand, and again the following Tuesday. Put the three together and Sunday will be a rest day.

As well, I am driving to Kingston in the morning, and returning to Toronto that evening.

I guess it depends on how old you are. It's the last night of Frosh Week, the Saturday evening, so the Hub (the top of downtown) will be rammed with students. Stages and AJ's will be the two top clubs in action, the Brass and Peel Pub will be serving the cheapest drinks. The strip bar is about 1.5 km down the street (at Princess and Montreal).

As for camping, the only one I can think of is Lake Ontario Park, and it's really skecthy.

Cheers

as for partying, im in the same boat as chris. I'm driving up to Kingston sunday morning around 8 from hamilton, and gotta leave after the show because of an 830am class monday morning back at McMaster. This show to me is all about the music, and no real partying

Lake Ontario's OK for camping but no fires, try Rideau Acres

there's to be post show parties at Elixer, but it'll be jammed packed. and with the roads closed to vehicles, you'll either have to be walkin or figuring out the transit shuttle. All in all, it'll be a hoppin town and people are friendly (if you pick the right one's to talk too -usually holding beers :-))
I'm just back from a conference in the Ozarks, and so just makin plans for next week. I'm eager to hear who alls up for some partyin???

I'm also going up and coming home the same day so partying isn't going to happen... I do know someone was telling me that you might be able to stay at Queens. I don't know if that's still in effect now that the students have moved in -- my guess is probably not, but check it out! It's the university in Kingston. http://www.queensu.com/

Yeah, that's out--residences are available as hotel rooms during the summer, but since move in day was yesterday the only way you'll be staying on campus after the show is if you hook up--most likely with a first year. And hey, maybe that's your thing...who am I to judge? 8)

Steve, who won't be returning to Victoria Hall on Sunday

Just wander around downtown Kingston--it's a fabulous place, especially during the late summer/early fall. If you're looking for a chill place to hang out and order cheap breakfast on Sunday, I'm especially partial to the Toucan on Princess St; it has a great covered patio and the breakfast special is (I believe) $2.50. Another great spot is the Scherzo Pub on Wellington St--it's more of an after show kinda place, but it has a good atmosphere and cheapish drinks.

If you know any Queen's students--or even if you don't--you could also try the Queen's Pub at the JDUC on Queen's campus, which will be hopping that whole weekend. I can almost guarantee it's where I'll be spending Saturday and Sunday.

OMG, is it here already?!! Big Grin
