With all of this talk about Least Favourite Album (which is a great way to put it - it doesn't necessarily mean the album stinks, just that you feel that it isn't as good as others) how do y'all treat that least favourite album? Do you still listen to the full CD, but not as much as others? Do you not play the CD at all? Did you add the songs you like from the least favourite album to some sort of self-made Hip compilation CD to avoid the tracks you don't like?
For example, I'm an iPod junkie and I've rated each of my 7,000 songs on iTunes' 5 point scale. My Hip playlist is set up so that songs that I've rated a 4 or 5 are the only songs played. Since IVL is my least fave Hip CD, it has the fewest tracks in that playlist - that way I can avoid Are You Ready (1 star) like the plague, but The Darkest One and Silver Jet (among others) still get there fair share of listens.
Anyway, just curious how others deal with their least favourite dilemna....

I burned a remade IVL with 8 album tracks, 2 Hip Club bonuses and a song from M@W, and I STILL don't listen to it. Even the presence of Problem Bears and Ultra Mundane couldn't save this one.

IVL, as my least fave, still gets an equal amount of airplay in my stereo as the other albums. I just don't tap my toes or sing along with it as much as the others. I still have some of the songs from it stuck in my head at times, sitting on a bus or buttering my toast or something... It's my least fave but a fave nonetheless...

I'm different from Lord Brazle. I seldom play M@W, and I NEVER play it all the way through; I find doing so annoying and tiresome. It may as well be a record from some merely OK band that somehow found its way into my collection. Still, now and then I do enjoy selections: 'Train Overnight,' 'The Completists,' 'Sharks,' 'The Bear' the undeniably great title track of course, 'Freak Turbulence,' and, in some moods, 'Lake Fever.' So I would never say the record's a total waste, but it's nothing special. Weak Hip is no competition for the good CDs that I do have.

I've come to the realization that a Hip song sounds different with every playing. It's pretty rare that I'll love a Hip song and then, down the road, stop liking it, but it's quite common that a Hip song just won't do anything for me, but then I'll come back to it after a while and it'll start to grow on me. Given that, there's never a Hip album or song that I'd ever brand as "hopeless" as far as me liking it.
So, although tracks like Coconut Cream, Wild Mountain Honey and Lionized still haven't made their wormed their way into my heart, they'll still get some playing time in my car as I wait for them to struck the right chord with me.
