Piano + Rock Music = Super.
#1

I love rock and roll bands that add a little Ivory now and again. I think it's part of the reason I love "Sherpa" so much and couldn't get enough of the "Evening With" tour.

Bartolomeo Christofori rocks. (And yes, I had to look that up.)

I agree, I love keys in alot of bands..adds a very sophisticated sound to the music. Coldplay is a classic example

I definitely like a lil' piano every once in a while... but full out replacing the guitar with a piano... so that there's no guitar... ever? A bit extreme for me. Smile

On songs like Army and Philosophy, it totally works though. Download them and you'll see!

I like most of Folds' stuff, but not his live solo album. It was a lot of fun, but having nothing but piano the whole way through the concert was a drag.

Yeah, it's a great change from the typical guitar-centric music I'm used to listening to. Three of my favorite bands, The Beatles, The Doors and The Guess Who, make great use of the piano.

I've heard those songs. I definitely like them, I'm just saying I prefer the addition of a piano to a band to the replacement of the guitar with a piano.

Ok, keys add alot to music now how about a violin in a rock band...how cool is that?

That is one of the unique aspects of DMB. 8)

Violins and strings are cool too, I love the touches of it on some Zep songs.

How 'bout a flute, ala Jethro Tull? Confusedcratch: I think it sounds kinda cool.

I love horns in a rock band. Could be because I'm a big ska fan. :thumb:

Even Blue Rodeo's really rockin' stuff always has piano/organ liberally sprinkled about the mix...one of my favourite things. Gives it a real folk-rock feel as opposed to just straightforward guitar rock.
