What's the point of their reporting system when someone can merely end the auction early before they get caught?

You'd have to sit on the auction and e-mail everyone as they submitted their bids. If you told the winner that and they refused to pay, they would get a black mark on their feedback report.

By trading with Hip fans or - truly for free - by downloading it from our FTPs. The best one is ftp.thehundredthmeridian.com...look in the "downloads" section for login info, and I recommend Ace FTP as the program to use because THM does not work with Smart FTP.
