Well I can make it to Toledo in about an hour and a half... Grand Rapids is on the other side of michigan and looks further away to me...

ive done the math...hit toledo and GR michigan and back from brampton will be around 800 miles of driving...not too bad

How can you argue that?

I really hope that they allow fan club first ticketing for these shows. My number isn't that great (249xxx with the highest being around 335xxx I believe) but it's the only shot I have of getting tickets. I'm thinking either Toledo or Grand Rapids hopefully.

Well, I'd start with the Hip, follow it up with The Foo's, toss in a little veteran Stones, Dead and Clapton and throw in some off the wall Jane's Addiction for the kiddies, B.B. King for kicks, and Bono and his boys to round out Exhibit A... all better live shows/acts right now than PJ in my opinion... that's how I'd start to argue that.

King for kicks, and Bono and his boys to round out Exhibit A... all better live shows/acts right now than PJ in my opinion... that's how I'd start to argue that.

I don't know if Pearl Jam are the "best" live band out there, but they're definitely in the top 10 along with Das Hips, the Boss, U2, R.E.M, Wilco,
Neil Young, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, and of course the aforementioned Foo Fighters. There are also many smaller acts out there who can certainly give the big boys a run for their money any day of the week, including The Weakerthans, Sam Roberts, The Lowest of the Low, Kathleen "potty mouth" Edwards, Steve Earle & the Dukes, and Cracker, just to name a few.

i dunno...id argue that PJ is the best live act around today. Ive been to quite afew shows in the past year and normaly follow setlists of the bands I see. PJ is likes to mix it up alot and play close to their entire catalog of songs over the course of a tour. The hip, as we all know do not (feel like i saw the same show 3 times in the last month), the foos didnt (followed an identical setlist everynight give or take a song or 2) and most others dont. Hopefully the hip will change things up abit when they tour this fall, cuz at 60-75$ a show...it just aint worth it.

For me, the only other live act worth seeing more than once on a tour is Radiohead. They dont mix it up as much as PJ but damn they put on a great show! Seeing their show in MSG NY, and 5 days later @ the skydome in T.O still left me wanting more

Pearl Jam at least changest their setlists up completely every night which makes each show special. With all the previous bands that were mentioned you know the opener and closer every night, and certain songs always follow others. At a Pearl Jam show you have the feeling they could play anything any night. Last year when I saw them in Fargo they played "In My Tree" for the first time on the whole tour...most bands would go through the motions in small cities like this.

Between ticket prices, fanclub seating at their shows, the availability of bootlegs and the actual show they put on, no band does more for their fans than Pearl Jam does.

Agreed, to the PJ fans. I'll stand by it, at this point, Pearl Jam has been the best live act I've seen so far. I doubt I've seen as many bands as many fellow Hipbasers, but I'll stand by it, changing the sets, combined with what I see as Pearl Jam's ultimate love for the music, parelled by the Hip's. They know how to put on the show, I doubt these shows are to be missed. I've thought for awhile now they're on their last legs...I'd hope not, but it seems as if it might be true. Should be some solid shows...
