Ok, I know I'm the dumbass newbie American but what is:
A toonie, a busker, and a husky? I think a husky is the dog species, but I'm sure I'm wrong.
Any input works here.
Also, any other phrases unknown to those of us south of the boarder would help.

a toonie is a $2 coin,the usage of husky in "heaven" is kind of like his tone of voice i think..husky,"keep it comin" under my breath...don`t know what a busker is eh? me neither

A busker is a street musician or other performer, the kind with a hat or guitar case you throw money into.

Onlt one of these is actually a Canadian phrase...
Toonie -- Two Dollar Coin
Husky -- A Dog
Busker -- To play music or perform entertainment in a public place, usually while soliciting money.

As for why we call the $2 coin the "Twonie"
In 1987, we replaced our $1 bill with a coin featuring a Loon on the back. It quickly became known as a "Loonie."
In 1995, we replaced our $2 bill with a coin featuring a polar bear on the back. "Dub-loonie," "Polonie" and "bear back" were tossed around, but "Twonie" just seemed the natural extension from "Loonie." It stuck.

Yeah, I can remember when a pack of smokes cost a twoonie, a loonie and a quarter....

hahaha I haven't been to Canada in over a year and I forgot about the "toonies". When I heard that song I thought he was talking about someone from "Saskatoon" lol
and to think, I've been to the mint in Ottawa where they MAKE TOONIES!!!

, but it is also a tonal quality, as was previously stated. An example of someone with a "husky" voice would be...hrm...Demi Moore or Lauren Bacall. Not to be flip, but I really don't think "husky" is strictly a Canadian vocal quality. Hope this helps a bit. :thumb:
