So...I watched Bubba Ho-Tep last night, and I must say, excellent, if not totally bizarre, film. Has anyone else seen it? I don't want to write out a bunch of spoilers if people are planning on watching it...but it's just such an interesting idea. Crazy, and probably drug induced, but interesting. I'd give it :thumb: :thumb:

If the Evil Dead trilogy proved nothing else, it's that Bruce Campbell is definitely the man.

I saw SpiderMan 2 Friday, and I laughed out loud when I saw Bruce Campbell in it.
Evil Dead and Spidey have the same director if I am not mistaken.

Indeed they do, one Mr Sam Raimi, who also directed Darkman. He happens to be a close personal friend of Bruce's.

I saw Bubba Ho Tep the other week....pretty entertaining and funny.
Bruce Campbell was awesome but then again...when isn't he.

Bruce "Shop smart, shop S-mart" Campbell is the man. He is so damn funny. Being a rabid :twisted: Evil Dead :twisted: fan, I was so happy to see Raimi put him in Spider Man. Have yet to see Bubba though, I've been hearing nothing but good things about it. Still trying to sell my wife on Bruce's talent and movies.
Has anyone read his book? "If Chins Could Kill, Confessions of a B-Movie Actor". I have yet to, but I hear its good.
Did anyone notice who the director/writer? is? Don Coscarelli of the Phantasm horror movie series. Loved those movies as well.

I have indeed read If Chins Could Kill. It was most enjoyable. It gave a lot of insight not only into Bruce's life, but also into the trials and tribulations suffered by many aspiring actors.

How can a movie starring Bruce Campbell as Elvis go wrong? I mean REALLY?
Raimi indeed directed Spider-Man and there's a group of actors I refer to as the Raimi gang, they show up in all his TV shows and movies. The Xena brigade, Bruce Campbell being the leader of the pack. Note also that Jonah Jamesons assistant (the one who always shows up a split second before Jameson calls for him) is another Raimi ganger, his name escapes me but he played Joxer (sp?) on Xena.
But to stay on course, anyone who has been culturally crippled by not seing Bubba should go remedy that real soon.

You could make a movie with nothing but Bruce Campbell napping on a couch for two hours, and it would still be totally badass.

I haven't seen Bubba yet, but as soon as I get through the first two seasons of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" it's on the list.
But speaking of Evil Dead, did anyone in the GTA seen Evil Dead the Musical when it was here? It's in Montreal now at Just For Laughs, and I think is playing through the end of the summer. This is the funniest piece of theatre I have ever seen. If only the movies had been made like this.

Had the pleasure of catching it at the Fest a few nights ago.
I'm pretty sure if I hadn't gone to the can before the show I would have pissed myself.
Amusingly the funniest thing wasn't on the stage but this incredibly overly dressed blond woman who was sitting in the front row.
Note: If you're gonna dress up high brow in a white dress don't sit in the first couple rows, or actually, do, because let me tell you: The look on your face when the blood started to fly will make me laugh for years to come!
