If you didn't notice I was not around for a few days. I was working in northern Manitoba. Norway House to be exact. It was a interesting experience, I had not been north in years.
I took one picture that really stick in my mind and I thought I would share it with you. Basically it is the garbage dump that you pass on the way into town. The dump is always burning I guess, not good for the environment at all. We saw atleast 10 black bears eating all the garbage and a poor dog. He was hiding under a matress.
I wonder if anyone cares about stiuations like this one, does the government care? Does Fish and Wildlife stuff like this. The bears will never leave! They are addicted to the garbage. I know this is 8 hours north of Winnipeg and no one cares or even knows about this place.
(That feels better  )
I need 2 Kingston Tickets, please help.

Wow Lance, that's horrible..I don't even know what to say..really makes Canadians want to go and explore the country, as the government always tells us to do.

There should be no more dumps. The bears, which we in the forests of Ontario call "Diaper Lickers," are attracted to the food people just throw in the garbage. For the waves of us who are trying to change sites like the one above, we drown in futility.
It seems the idea of recycling to the older generation is crazy. I have to basically get in an argument with my Dad about the environment.
It's so easy yet so many people seem to be to lazy. What's it take not to litter?
That's a horrible picture, Lance. Do you know what's the story about the dog? Abandoned and he's attracted to the food like the bears?

You don't have to go far from your own home and you will see this. Anyone that lives near Ottawa can take highway 17 north. Every, I'd say, 10 KM all the way to North Bay, have side roads right off the highway that lead to dumps. You can dump anything at no charge. If you ever venture to one, make your way when the sun goes down. There's always folks in their cars waiting to take pictures of the bears. I don't know whether to say that's disgusting, or in fact, interesting. I'm sure most bears do not eat just garbage...many survive off of wild berries. I can't speak for those bear's in Manitoba, but perhaps some are just looking for dessert?
Now, as for having open landfill for people to come and drop their junk, that's disgusting. I know the ones around here are quite regularly cleaned up, but where the mess goes, I don't knows.
