Anybody ever go to the Alliston Potato festival? Last year I met some kids (18-20) from Alliston while I was camping at Darien Lake, I wasn't sure why Canadians would want to come down to NYS to camp with all that beautiful land up there, but anyway, they talked all night about this thing and I'm still confused. Darien Lake seems to be a pretty popular camping and vacation spot for people from Ontario, which also confuses me.

I know nothing of what you're talking about, however I am a strong proponent of the illustrious potatoe and all its glory. I felt it had to be known.

in my books, I feel the potatoe is over-rated. It does well as French Fries (or Freedom Fries as our friends to the south call them), and I like them mashed with gravy, and Potatoe chips are great. But any other form of potatoe is really not that great. Whyshould the potatoe bask in all that glory??? It just isn't right!

But....But....But....What about Mr. Potatohead? Hasn't he brought years of joy to the lives of many a young child? His removable lips, changeable eyes, oversized ears? What shall become of him?

What shall beome of Mrs. Potatohead? All the Potatohead children, for that matter? The little tater-tots will fall victim to all the bullies at school. The other root vegetables will shun them and call them names like "stupid-spud" . They will say mean things in mocking tones like "You want fries with that Potato-Boy?"

If Mr. Potatohead is no longer loved by the kiddies, what will he do? Even McDonalds will give him the "We don't want your kind here. We only do side salads now!" speech. Before long the he will be hanging out in front of the McCains factory just trying to bum a packet of ketchup or some sour cream....

Oh, the horror! The horror!
