How dare she! In just one week, IBE has had a 50% drop in sales. Yikes!
Looks like the lack of touring and promotion is hurting them, not to mention a few scathing reviews from Canadian critics (Mike Bell from the Calgary Sun, I'm talkin' to you!) Not that record sales really matter that much, but if I were the Hip, I'd get my ass on the road, and quick. It's time for a full-on touring blitz of the U.S. and Canada. Common boys, where are those tour dates??

Dropping to 2nd spot after two weeks isn't that bad. When bands have such a loyal following like The Hip, most fans rush out to buy the album either the day of release or shortly after.

I question the choice of singles, myself. 'Scar' is a great tune (love the guitars) but not hook-laden enough for a first single IMHO. 'Nashville' is a better bet...but I'd have selected a tune that builds on the Hip's established sound while spiking it slightly, e.g., 'Mean Streak.'

Record Sales are nice, certainly...
I however, have yet to attend a Hip show that wasn't sold out and I figure I've probably seen them 30 or so times over the years.

One word for ya....TOUR....I know that maybe 40% of people who go to see a show even own the album, let alone sing along to the new songs...they'll buy the album after they see the show.
VT is ready for another show or two....but there has been little radio play, probablly because they haven't said they are coming to town. ??

They really need to announce a tour. I cannot remember the last time they have waited so long to get a summer tour going after releasing an album.
I remember in 2002 before IVL, they had most of their summer dates announced in April.
