Did anyone see her sing the anthem??? That was the worst singing I've ever heard in my life. So much exagersation and the high notes......just insane and completley un-entertaining!!!!!!!
Any other opinions?

I find it totally amazing how many singers try to add their own lib when singing an anthem. I mean, it's just disgraceful most times. An anthem isn't meant to be changed up so much. Fantasia was horrid, she has a squeaky pop voice, and she was trying too hard.
Then again. maybe I was just pissed off that FOX decided to cut to a commercial just as Gord was going to sing the Cdn. anthem.

fantasia is weak..trying to hard to be macy gray...why these people enjoy turning a one minute song into a five minute ordeal is beyond me!!

One should never ad-lib a national anthem. Its should be sung as originally intended. All the time.
Anyone else catch the 3-4 fumblings of our horrid idol Fantasia? Read the lyrics first sweetie! An abomination if you ask me. :twisted: :rambo:

You can listen to it, at about the 20:20 mark...NOT very good...but still, he tried. It's not the easiest song to sing.

I loved her on American idol but OMG she TOTALLY sucked singing the Anthem. Quite frankly I don't know which was worse, her singing or Gord not being shown! Like I said in my email to fox....
I think it was great that she was chosen to sing it, however, to put her up against a international star like Gord Downie was a joke.
