did this on-air the other day, and got lots of great line-ups...choose your singer,bass player, drummer etc... dead or alive and make them your ultimate group...had lots of calls for flea on bass, and lots for dave grohl on drums..interested to see what people have to say....

I think LoftyPines has a good answer. I'll try to mix it up a bit, without including the Hip.
How about Eddie Vedder singing, Neil Peart on drums, John Entwistle on bass, with Neil Young and Jack White on guitars. I know, you think I'm crazy for putting White on guitar but that would be one fuzzed out, rocking grunge guitar duo with Peart and Entwistle filling in on the other end.
Or...maybe John Fogarty singing, Matt Cameron on drums, Jeff Beck and Slash on guitars, Flea on bass.

Axl had the swim move dance move perfected! Slash with the cool hat and killer guitar riffs. Duff with the burnt out rock star look, izzy in his own world, and I don't know much about the drummer. The fact that Slash was left off of Rolling Stone's top 100 guitar players just proves the absurdity of the magazine.

I know it seems like a weird combination, but Clapton & Kravitz played All Along the Watchtower a few years ago at a VH1 show and it was mind blowing.

This is a difficult question due to which muscial type you want to have the super group- For an example
hard rock I would go with a couple eazy ones- Audio Slave or Temple of the Dog
Alt Country would be Uncle Tupelo.
But just a list to see what would come out would be
