I am transfering audio from a video right now onto CD from 7-24-93.
The show where Gord missed the guy on stage.
"He was my man..."
They start jamming along and all of the sudden after a minute, the go into 38 Yrs Old.
Never would have guessed it was that song, kinda sounded like the prelude to Thugs.
Damn it sounded really great.
I figured it would be worn out or sound the same as always.
Very cool sounding, and I actually think it would fit into a show now with that sort of version.

I saw them play it in Calgary in '92 on the Fully Completely tour. At the time it wasn't that big of a deal, but after all these years of them not playing it, I feel priveleged to have actually seen it performed live.

If I recall correctly, they won't play it because the Downie family experienced some negative feedback from people who thought the song was true, seeing as how one of Gord's brothers is named Mike.

that's too bad, it would be so awesome live. I thought they might have done it on the 'evening with' tour. I've seen them 20 times now and my first show was the DFN tour. It would be cool if they did a tour of stuff they haven't done for awhile. I don't really need to hear Fireworks and Springtime anymore.

Fiddler's Green has a legit reason to never be played live. It was written for Gord's deceased nephew (IIRC, might have been another relation) and as Gord describes it: "It's his song" and will remain unplayed.

Stephen and I were lucky enough to hear both Pigeon Camera and Thugs during the Boston stop on the '02 tour. Those shows still stand out as two of the best Hip performances I've ever seen.

I heard both those during my first few shows. I can play the lead guitar on Pigeon no problem. Maybe they'll invite us onstage during the 'all fan request' tour I dream of often.

I count three times off the top of my head...Jock Harty Arena in Kingston in January '89, the Ontario Place Forum in June '90 and the Old Fort Henry show in August '91...

Like Casey said, it certainly didn't seem like a big deal back then...
