"Gimme Ten Bucks and A Head Start" - Are we family
"Put ten bucks in just to get the tank topped up" -Locked in the Trunk (i think)
My Question is....is it the the same ten bucks? lol.....
also, whats with Gordies obsession with "swimming" like, at the end of poets (especially the woodstock boot), new orleans, and now heart of the melt? I'm sure there is more as well...

"He bought two fifths of lead free gasoline" - Opiated
Although I am sure Gord has changed it to ten bucks on occasion.

As for Gord's nautical obsession...
Ever been to Kingston? It'd be hard to grow up there and not be influenced by nautical and sea-going expereinces. Gord's had a thing for Whales, the sea, and the men who try to conquer her, forever.
I'd suggest growing up on the banks of the Lake (Especially Odessa, Gord's hometown just outside Kingston) gives a guy lots of sea inspiration. And remember he also studied Canadian history, and enjoys Canadian poetry. Alistair McLeod's maritime poems are legendary as are the many, many links to Canada, her birth, and the sea.

As do I. I spent much of my youth exploring that area - most of it at Parrott's Bay Conservation area.
