Hey everyone
So what songs do you think we'll hear at this show? I don't think it is simply going to be the entire new album played beginning to end. Even on the Edge website it says the Hip will be playing songs from the new album, and some old favourites, and that's just talking about the broadcast. Who knows what they'll play once the broadcast is over.
I would guess at 12-13 songs during the broadcast (90 minutes, allowing time for commercials and interview). Probably 7 or 8 from the new album and 5 old songs (old - as in pre-IBE). And then I would think another 5 or 6 songs once the broadcast is over. So hopefully by the end of it we'll have as many songs as the other club shows.
Anyway, it's going to be amazing no matter what they play!

During the IVL new CD shows (the private ones, remember) - they only played stuff from that particular album. Not anything else. I imagine it'll be the same for this CD release party as well...with some questions from the fans.

Quoting the Edge website:
"On Tuesday, June 29th, The Hip will be playing an exclusive All Access Edge show just for Inside Edge members! They'll be playing songs from their new album "In Between Evolution" as well as some of your old favorites!"
Also remember though, that those secret shows were radio station winners only (at least I think the Toronto one was). This time they are selling tickets (albeit very few).

I wouldn't count on the newspaper having the proper set list. I doubt very much that the hip told them what they are going to play on any given night.
I also think that a 2 hour show is out of the question. This isn't the full blown tour, I mean the album isn't even out yet. These shows are all about the new lp dude.

True. Whatever they play will be great... it'll be cool to hear all the new songs live. We can hear more old ones on Canada Day at the Amp!

The emphasis will certainly be on the new album, but they'll most likely throw in a few old classics as well.

I attended the Hard Rock show for IVL, and they played every single song off the album, and after the broadcast was over, they played 2 others. I believe they were Poets & Lake Fever. Enjoy the show!

Tickets for these shows are also costing $50 with service charges; something tells me the band wouldn't charge its fans that much money and not give them a full-out show. Also, since this tour is being targetted to the die hards, I wonder if that means we'll get a few rarities thrown in with the new songs and the classics? One can dream...
Steve, a die hard despite his low post total

I gotta think they are going to play every song from the new album and then crack out a few oldies at the end after the radio broadcast is over. This sounds to me like an edge 102 new album premiere, except it being live so it's strictly new stuff.
Can't wait til the show!
