#1

Post em here...

With the possibility of no NHL season next year, this may be the last time we talk playoff hockey for awhile. :x

At the risk of looking like an idiot I'm editing this post and simply saying I'm sick of all the bandwagon jumping that has gone on this playoffs.

It's not over yet........

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

The Flames can now fade into obscurity with other Stanely Cup finalists like the 93 Kings, 96 Panthers, 2002 Hurricanes and 2003 Mighty Ducks.

Gonna be alot of Flames car flags at garage sales!

Speaking of Bandwagon , you'd be singing a different tune if they won .

See? Nobody wants to listen to me! Both teams did great, Calgary just forgot to show up until the middle of the third..ah well.

Congrats to the Lightning, a much deserved win. This game could have went either way. If Calgary would have come out with as much intensity early in the game as they did after they scored it could have been different.

By the way, did anybody see the digital reconstruction of the Game 6 controvertial goal? They basically proved that the correct call was made. All in all I feel really good about how the playoffs went this year. I was nervous with a Tampa-Calgary final, but it had to have helped the league going to a Game 7.

Here's to a successful off-season and that the league comes together and makes it work for next year.

Next up, The World Cup this summer...Go USA, Go Sweden.

The Flames did great! Losing 2-1 in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in nothing to be ashamed of. I really hope there's a parade for them like in '86 so we can cheer them on again.

Well... Congrats to Tampa, they deserved the game.

Seriously though, that was an absolutly brutal call with just over a minute left in Game 7 of the Stanley cup finals!! Then giving the even up call for some bullshit tripping penalty... just rubbing salt in the wounds. It's like saying sorry bout that shitty call, we'll even it up for ya for the last 20 seconds.

All that said, Tampa did deserve to win the Game. The Flames didn't show up till the 3rd. Too bad, but it's been a great unexpected run for them and the city couldn't be prouder of them. And there is a rally for them on Wednsday at noon.

Good job Flames!!

As for the comments about them fading into obscurity, I don't buy it. This team has grown emensly in these playoffs and I believe they have a base for a solid team in the years to come.

correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't the flames 2 best players free agents??
(iginla, kipper)

they'll have to sigh them both if they expect another playoffs like they had this year

i'd love to see both of em in leaf jerseys next year!!

anyways, the flames did a great job this year and proved a lot of people wrong

Haha, that's pretty funny, if you only knew half of it. I work at a local sports store and have been having a blast with all the Flames "fans". Telling them stuff like "Tampa has more Canadian players" and that kinda thing just fried them. I respect the long-time Flames fan that stuck it out, but I hate how everyone acts like it is their favourite team and then don't give them a thought after they lose.

I'm a Wings fan and didn't trade in the winged-wheel for the flaming C. More than I can say for alot of people...pick a team and stick with it! It's one thing to go out and buy a $20 tshirt to support the Flames but I see people spending $125 (after tax) on a jersey for a team they didn't even like two months ago. It's good for business, but too bad that people are so short sighted. Believe me, I saw alot of Mighty Ducks stuff selling like crazy last year and I haven't seen too many people wearing it this year.

This was some awesome hockey! The whole playoffs were exciting. I picked up 3 flames flags at the pub last night. 2 for free and one for a buck. No one seemed to care that I wanted them to use as tp. Just proves how many bandwagon jumpers there really are. But at least peeps were watching hockey! We are a hockey nation but stick with your teams dudes and dudettes. At my house calgary was not Canada's team. That honour belongs to team Canada not calgary or even my beloved Nucks. Cheering for a team is cool but calling them your team when you only started paying attention to hockey two weeks ago is total road apples. It was too much to take out here. Good for calgary's owners though, they made a pile of money on merch.

Here's hoping Iggy is wearing a killerwhale C next year.

Hoping, praying there is hockey next year!!

Aren't most of Tampa's players from Canada??? Doesn't Canada REALLY win the cup every year????? It's just the Canadian fans that don't win.
