Well I have wanted to wait and try and meet them, but I don't really know how one goes about doing that kindof thing. Sabina, Did you just hang around when you met Gord?

Yeah but that was way easier since there was only one way out and there was no security.
Never being to Bayfest before I really don't know what's possible as far as having any real access to them coming or going. As for getting backstage I think it will be doubful without a pass... Cry You'll just have to give me yer undies to throw at Gord from the VIP area  just kidding...
So, think he'll wear our hat?!

During the Grape Jam concert back during the Phantom Power tour, we saw Gord D, Gord S, Paul and Rob (not Johnny) walking around amongst the crowd about three and a half hours before their show time. At that festival, however, there were dozens of hippie booths and food booths set up away from the stage area, and that's where we saw them. My beau at the time and myself were checking out some incense at one booth when we looked up and saw them one booth over, shopping. So hey...anything's possible at Bayfest, Sabina. Granted, Bayfest is in Canada...where most people there will know what the band looks like. At least in Erie, PA...that wasn't necessarily the case.

Yeah that kindof sucks huh! I'm not sure about the undies. I don't think my boyfriend/husband would like that. Well I know he wouldn't. I don't know about the hat. I doubt it.
Did you happen to get tickets for the July 1st show?

Well I've some how managed to make it backstage a number of times ove the last decade... sometimes luck, sometimes knowing someone or working the show at a swag booth or as a roadie. (3 ARA's)

For the edgefest show I was with a few friends and one female friend decided she would "present" her breasts for a good part of the show!
Well although there were a few other flashings...none of them matched the quality or the amount of times she did it during the show... we were down front in the mosh area and the TTH could clearly see her assets as she went from my shoulders to a few other guys. I stuck close to her since our other friends left and went back to the car... and after the show Johnny walked down to the Head Security guard and handed him his drum sticks pointing at us (her). We walked over towards the boards and they were handed directly to her.... she turned to me and said "come on we're going back stage"

I responded with ya right...listen it's not a real big deal... let's just get going. So we hung out for a few minutes off to the side.she had a smoke and as people passed by us they did everything from say THANKS to HIGH-5's to me and her ...saying thanks for making the show !!! It was quite amusing.

So now she grabs my hand & we head down to the edge of the stage and she see's this guy by himself with a pass around his neck & asks .. "hey take me backstage... I have Johnny's sticks and want to see him... pretend I'm your girlfriend..." he looks at me like...is she for real and I say "go right ahead.. if you can do it" I'm fine.... so she goes with him arm-in-arm.... and I stand there alone still amazed at this point at the Show on stage and the one that just walked away..... finally a security guy walks up to me and says "man your lucky" I told him it was just some friend I had met a few days before and he responded with "well we were dropping people...that were coming over the wall cause we were all watching her.... you deserve to go back there too...follow me" So he walked me in.... got me to the gates.... and I said thanks I know what to do from here don't worry....

So I walk in alone and see a blonde with drumsticks coming out of her back pocket talking to Paul Langlois and another guy.... I walk over and say hey... what's up... to her and extend my hand to Paul saying "great show tonight... you guys really seemed to have a good vibe going" he said thanks and yeah...there was a good vibe out there tonight...slowing glancing at the Maxim-Cover-girl in front of him... pretty funny..

Paul left and she told me she had already been in the HIPS trailer and showed me the signitures on the sticks... Gord D wrote "NATASHA POWER" ...so then I spotted Bobby and a couple of the Trailer Park Boys hosting their own little gatherings.... Natasha wanted me to hang out while she tried to get into the TTH Trailer again... (maybe she thought I was cramping her style)

That was cool with me... she got me a beer from these other guys/fans who saw her during the show... she took off and I headed over to say hi to Gord S.... then I continued my tour over to listen in as Bobby talked about the show and previous shows with a few other fans.... after this I hung back and waited near the door for Natasha to come out. Ricky told me she was almost done....

Finally she walks out with a new HIP T-Shirt modified to her style by Johnny (arms torn off...cut waist) ...and a piece of Pizza... too much

Smiling like a little kid she told me what went on behind the doors of TTH Trailer and nothing surprised me...a few comments from johnny in private and the glorious fragrence of natural herb from one corner... then we shared the pizza & headed for home... I mean the parking lot.

We showed up to an empty parking lot and her sister and my friend passed out inside their car.... where they had been since the 4th or 5th song......

Do you think they believed us ?

8) - I've been dying to tell that story here on Hipbase...

Thanks,

I do not have the most shows under my belt (45), nor have I travelled to Europe or anything... but I definately have some of the most interesting stories & memorabilia in my possession....from between 1992-2004....... the above story is a favourite for obvious reasons !

Yeah cool story! :thumb: It's nice that you got backstage and got to meet them. Nothing against your friend but for me I could never do that. I guess I just have a little to much ahh what's the word...? self respect for that. But hey whatever works right!

Well I use friend loosely... fitting word for the story. I was already going to the show and happen to meet her 3 days before in Toronto and we said we'd hook up for a beer-tailgating.... thats it! Believe it or not...She was smarter than the story sounds and isn't a close friend. I haven't seen her since.... so no offence taken!

It was like a freak'in movie.

I was right beside you guys. The old security guard was her number one fan. He let a few people drop cause he was checking out her attractions.
