Do you guys tend to prefer the stations out of Canada over the stations in the States. And what stations out of Canada do you guys listen to?

I wasn't going to say this, but here goes: the one frustration that does come with Canadian music not being well-known in the country - is the flack that I tend to take from time to time for liking Canadian music. There's people from this country who give me flack for showing a big interest in another nation's music - and there's also people from Canada who act very possessive about *their music*, so these people give me flack for liking *their music*.

P.S. For your information, I am only 17 years old - and I *do* plan to move to Canada this fall. However, it's not as easy as just packing up and moving - I wish it was, but it isn't

Sorry I blew up before, but I just asked out of curiosity. And just so you know, my issue with not liking the US goes much deeper than Canadian music not being in record stores or played on radio stations in this country. I mean, that's only the icing on the cake.

Hi there...
I'm a Canadian living in the Detroit area. It's rare that I've tried to buy a Canadian cd and not found it. I got Coke Machine Glow no problemo - you'd think that would be a toughie to find it but it wasn't. IF there's ever anythign I can't find locally I can usually get it online somewhere, and usually cheaper too :mrgreen: .

Just last week I was in Borders and remembered I wanted to get a Farley Mowat (canadian author) book - I almost didn't ask I thought the answer would be no, but golly-geee-willakers cratch: , they had it!

The only thing I had trouble gettng was the Trailer Park Boys dvd's - had to order those through Canada, but still no biggie.

I'm a Canadian living in Buffalo, NY now. I mostly listen to the US stations, but I also make it a point to listen to Edge 102 and 97.7 HTZ FM.

I'm from Gouverneur, NY, which is about 2.5 hrs south of Ottawa. The best stations come out of Canada, surprisingly out of Montreal. So, yeah I hear the Hip on the Canadian stations. The U.S. stations are all either pop 40 or country.

i live in Buffalo. besides buffalo stations, i listen to 97.7 HitsFM, 107.1, and 102.1 the Edge out of Toronto. its great having double the stations to choose from. without them , buffalo radio would really be lacking
