I was listening to 106.9 the bear in ottawa and they said the hip were playing at the blues fest this july. I was wondering if anyone knew when tickets are going on sale? I've checked the hip site and the only thing they have is the bay fest in sarina. Thanks. :thumb:

But bear in mind there's like 6 other stages. The way Bluesfest is gone is..don't expect many blues acts on the mainstage but expect all other stages to be loaded down with the Blues (which is the real beauty of the festival)

I remember the first year I attended a Bluesfest. I think it was 1998 or so. The only acts were blues artists. One of the big headliners was Ray Charles. (Amazing show, btw. Interestingly, the crowd was a mix of young and old....).

I was one of many people who questioned how the festival's vibe would change when they started including rock acts. I must say though, that it is, indeed, still wonderful. As exnihilio said, the other venues provide more than enough acts to satisfy even the most ardent blues fan. 8)

Saturday Night. The stage and tents are already up. I walk by it everyday and can't wait. Beer Fest, Jazz Fest and then finally Blues Fest!

So what's the problem? Drag 'em to the show! Birthday's come along every year. The Hip at BluesFest only comes along once... every two years.

I'll be there. Saw the Bluefest show in 2002, and it was an awesome experience: great atmosphere, great vibe amongst the crowd, solid song selection (the opening five songs were *killer*) and *perfect* weather. It's also easy to get close to the stage, since a lot of people who attend Bluesfest are there to chill, not necessarily to see the show. Can't wait!
