Subject: In Between Evolution available June 29
Dear Fans,
We hope you are all doing well and getting out of the house once in a while now that spring is here. We'll be getting out of the house and on tour soon - more about that below.
We can now tell you our brand new record is called "In Between Evolution." IBE will be available in Canada Tuesday June 29th and most likely the same day in the US.
Thanks for supporting the first single "Vaccination Scar" at radio and at www.puretracks.com where VS is the #1 downloaded track. We're working on a very cool video treatment of Vaccination Scar, which we think you will really like. Before it goes to television we'll make sure you have a sneak peek of it at www.thehip.com - details to follow in another message.
The title for our 11th album comes from a painting by a young Canadian artist from Kingston, Cameron Tomsett. Rob of course brought Cameron's work to our attention and we all thought it was terrific and suited our latest recording. In Between Evolution, the painting, is a collage-like work of 27 drawings combined. We invite you to visit www.thehip.com to see a portion of the album art. We'll add a new piece each week.

Interview excerpt...
"How do you think the new album will be received by the public and the critics?"
I know the tempos are popped right up there, they are a lot faster. It’s more like a record we made called Road Apples, we made that in New Orleans and it was on the heel of a tour. The instrumentation is pretty much the same as that, there are no overdubs. [Adam] Kasper [the producer] would not really let us do too much. As far as people reacting, like the critics, we really haven't been a band this long to worry about that. If we look at it like we are fortunate working musicians and get on the road and play, we are happy about that.
Tour Dates - here's what has been confirmed at this time.
July 10 - Ottawa Blues Festival
July 11 - Wasaga Beach Blues Fest
July 17 - Bayfest 2004, Sarnia, ON ( on sale now - http://www.sarniabayfest.com )
July 24 - Sudbury Blues Festival
Expect more dates in Canada and the US and Europe in time.
Later,
Das Hips
