What is your radio station saying?
#1

I heard 'Vaccination Scar' on CHOM this morning, sounds great. It was a the first time I had heard it on the radio:-)

After the song was done the DJ came on and said the hip hadn't named thier album yet.

I emailed them to tell them what we knew and about the HNIC thing. I was wondering, what are stations you listen to that play the Hip saying about the new album?

The radio station here stated the album's release date as the end of June and the name as being "In Between Evolution"

Heard it for the first time today on The Fox, maybe the last 15 seconds or so. Sounds good on radio. They went in to some Finger Eleven afterwards. It figures....

I was wondering if they were playing it. I haven't listened to CJ92 since Q107 started up. I've been trying CJ off and on for the last few days but no luck and I end up getting fed up with the other shite.

CFOX just added it today and have put it into the highest rotation they can for a Canadian band.

The Q in Victoria has been all over it and played it alot on Saturday after the HNIC premiere.

As for my station Classic Rock 101 (the number one rock station in the city!), much to my dismay we are not adding it!!!!!!!

The station does a hell of alot of things right and i understand why it hasn't been added (see below). But It's THE FREAKIN HIP!

As a Classic Rock station we no longer play any new music even from bands that are deemed Classic Rock. Makes me wonder what will happen when U2 releases their next album. If and when Bono decides he wants to take part in the recording rather than shaking hands with dodgy politicans...did i just go off on a rant?

No harm in requesting it though!

Anyone who wants to email the station to get the song played just go to www.rock101.com or just call 604-280-1011 and request it.

Yeah I've been doing the same , just checking here and there and got lucky, the other day it came on at 6am. Great way to start work !! I haven't actually hear the DJ's talk about it. I'm still bitter about their comments about Pascals Submarine when it came out. I remember Jerry Forbes saying that if you wanted to clear out a party throw on Gord's CD, and then a breath later stating that the Hip haven't done anything good since Poets. That :censored son of a :censored can go :censored himself. Pardon the profanity... Ok, no , I'm not done ranting , this morning ...Let me give you a taste of their humour, to those who haven't heard CJ92. This morning they had one of those little comedic bits, a prank phonecall. So they have a voice imitating this East Indian guy calling a lost and found service for the highway, asking if they found his dot , he lost his dot on the highway, this goes on for a couple minutes , they always play this racist :censored .To me it's racist and derrogatory. That's why I can't stand that redneck :censored station.

Ugh that dot joke is so old. I do believe that is from a NYC radio station's Morning zoo CD. My ex husband has the CD.

Mark & Royce, I'm sure you know about Brocket 99, eh?

That stuff had some mythical legendary status when I was in school, yet I had never heard a copy until I recently found some MP3's on the web. Some of it was funny, but most was pretty bad.

Yes, the best one was the guy who was picking up radio signals on his toaster. lol I know what that's like. I lived a few miles from a radio station transmitter and we picked up the station on our PHONE! LOL!

Yep, heard about it quite a few times, mostly from guys at work, never listened to it before, just knew it was out of Fort Macleod and there was a big controversy over it. Here's a link to the Brocket 99 webpage for those who don't know about it. http://www.brocket99.net/station

definitly heard of that. I heard it quite a bit in high school. Seemed funny at the time but it's really pretty bad. I just came accross that link Mark posted a couple weeks ago. There's some interesting articles posted on there about the whole thing.
