So, I run by the canal. And for the past few days, I've noticed a Heron (Actually, I'm no bird expert, it might be a crane or something...) standing in the exact same place.

It stands rigfht in the middle of the murky canal, one foot in the water, one foot tucked under its wing. Silent, still, majestic. At the right time, late in the golden hour, if the sun is just right, just before 9, there really is a Heron outside In Violet Light.

He (Or she...) is always standing about 800 metres West of Frank Clair Stadium and looks to be sleeping as I run by. If you're in Ottawa (And guys if you're looking for a good "spontaneous" date moment) It's worth checking out if you're into that sorta thing.

It's pretty cool, or maybe I'm just a dork. Anyway, thought I'd share.

That's pretty cool. Once in a while I notice Hip references too. Actually I was outside today in Fredericton and saw a garbage bag in a tree, so I called it a garbage bag tree. I suppose this is not as majestic as seeing a heron outside in violet light though! You're story is much better.

you never know - if i were on a date and the girl took me to a special spot in the city to show me a garbage bag tree, i would be impressed. Of course hip tickets in the summer are an even better surprise...

I work for a place that serves ice cream. We have a flavor called "Fireworks". I saw the name one day and the song got stuck in my head. lol
