Heksenketel
#1

Has anyone seen it, or does anyone have a rip of it that they could send? I'm not too sure if it is worth buying, but I would love to see it. If anyone has a review then thats cool too. Anyone??

i have it and have seen it TONS of times.. it's pretty amusing and it's got some good songs etc. the only complaint I have is that the video quality is pretty iffy. like the tapes are kinda DYING out after being around for so long. but still great.

It is a good buy, a great insight into the band. i have to agree with the quality of the video, especially the concert parts of it, but its still worth the money Big Grin

It is well worth the $15 if you can find it online or at the odd HMV. The performances are great, and the scene's on the bus are fantastic.

My personal favourite scenes are Bobby explaining how Gord "constantly re-evaluates..." and then the film cuts to a waterfall as the intro to Pigeon Camera plays. Plus, the footage of the band transfixed, childlike, as they watch an episode of the X files is priceless.

And the mystery of the opening song still haunts me. They play a wicked song as they warm up for the speedway show, just before the "Davey Allison" exchange. We dealt with this on the newsgroup a couple years ago, but nobody seems to know what that song is...

"These Guys Stink!"

Are we gong to be able to find Dave's place?

Johnny: "Oh man, this town is so fucking small you could say: "Take me to Powell's, and the asshole'd take you there."

Buy it you won't regret it! You might be able to get a copy cheap on Ebay.

Good stuff. Definitely worth the purchase. It is good to pop in the VCR when you get home from the bar and want to watch something. It is quite amusing.

I thought about it too but wondered whether it should be put to DVD or not, since it's an official Hip release. I'd love to see it on DVD (I bought my VHS copy off eBay, unopened for $2.75). If it's all good (re: copyrights), all the power to ya Jeffro. :thumb:

Well I wouldn't be selling it or maybe not even trading it... was just going to do it for personal reasons.. easier to watch and skip to favourite parts etc...

I don't mean to be dragging up old threads, but I couldn't find one that answered my question and I didn't feel like starting a new one...

Anyways, my tape of Heksenketel is really worn out from years of watching it. Instead of buying another copy on ebay or something (which would most likely be previously owned anyhow) does anyone know if the Hip are planning on releasing this on DVD? Or does a decent dvdr copy exist that I can buy?

Just frustrated and really want to watch it.
