I just saw Powderfinger a couple of weeks ago at The Commodore for the. 2nd time
They put on one hell of a live show. In a way they remind me of the Tragically Hip.
In Australia they play bigger venues much like the Hip do here. But when they travel abroad they play smaller venues like theatres.
They also get a huge contingent of Australian folk at their shows when they play outside Australia. I couldnt help but think of how that reminded me of seeing The Hip in the states. Just like how we fly the Canadian flag at Hip shows abroad....it was the same way with the Australian flag at the Powderfinger shows.
If you have a chance definitely see these guys live. The new album Vulture Street is awesome. It will be released in Canada soon but has been out in Australia for months.
For now pick up "Odyssey #5". The album freakin rocks.. "My Happiness" is such a great song.

I've got Odyssey #5 and it's a solid album. Definitely worth picking up. I got into them through a Hip fan in Australia that I did a trade/B&P with; and he likened them to The Hip just as irish hip guy did.
