For the last of The Hip Weakest Link polls, we are going to turn the voting around; instead of voting for the song you think is the weakest, you are going to vote for the song you think is the strongest. We will then eliminate the song with the most votes and continue until we are left with the "champion" - the weakest song in the discography.

Coconut Cream is pretty lazy in its melody and guitar parts. The lyrics are weird and Paul's background vocals sound like all the worst parts of his style.

The chorus in Pretend is decent but the plunk plunk piano doesn't suit the Hip and Gord's habit of lyrical repetition is abused to the point of irritation.

Frozen is the best of this group. I've always liked Gord's growling (when you gonna realize).

I'm quite surprised that Are You Ready was voted out before Frozen. Frozen creates less damage being buried near the end of the album, whereas Are You Ready practically derails the whole feel and tone of IVL before it has barely begun.

I'm quite surprised that Are You Ready was voted out before Frozen. Frozen creates less damage being buried near the end of the album, whereas Are You Ready practically derails the whole feel and tone of IVL before it has barely begun.

I hear that. The first time I put on IVL (release day, 2002), I put it in my desktop computer CD drive to listen to the audio (we've come a long way, baby), and I honestly though there was either a hardware or a disc problem that was making it sound awful.

I am astounded that it will not be medalling in the Weakest Link Olympics.

Voted Coconut Cream this round. I don't think Werewolf is the worst on the EP (Evelyn) and I don't think Frozen is the worst on WATS (Struggle). Pretend stinks though.

I remember throwing it into my car CD player as soon as I got it and was certain there was something wrong with the CD. The guitar intro riff sounds so out of tune to me, not even a different tuning, just completely out of tune.
