The Weakest Link - First Single - Round 3
#1

Love is a First is the second to leave; bring on round 3.

13 - Love is a First
14 - Small Town Bringdown

Vote for the song you believe is weakest from the lead singles and after 24 hours, we'll eliminate the song with the most votes and move on to round 4. In the event of a tie, both songs will be eliminated.

Voting will end on Saturday at 10:08am Eastern.

Happy voting,

Shane

I don't feel like a jerk to have been voting My Music At Work since round one.

Gotta go with In View for this round. I like the song and it's catchy as hell. But it's really nothing more than a fun, simple, throw-away pop song that was obviously crafted specifically for radio. I imagine Bob Rock probably said "ok guys, write me a hit", and the band obliged him just for shits and giggles. And it worked.

The only hint that you're listening to a Hip song is during that wonderful bridge where the real Gord Downie emerges:

"In the Day Eraser's dark of night
In the Excited States, gone in plain sight
Under the wave or by cavelight
I lose, things change, but never in your eyes."

That's good stuff.

Agree that that is i the only part I have ever found to be even vaguely interesting about this song. I mistakenly voted for Love is a First last round, but that gives me the chance to kick this mofo in the ribs again.

For In View I have always, always had the perfect video in my head.
I wish I had the capability of actually making the video for this tune.
It would give it a great new meaning and would actually make me (and a whole bunch of people also, I know) love this tune.
Anyone have the ability to make this happen just PM me. It could be kinda awesome for about 48 hours.

Voted Possessed...In View is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and while I will probably vote for it next round, should it survive, I can't put either of those songs above the rest. A bit of a toss up for me, but I figured In View was going out anyway, may as well vote for something different.
