It's not from a rant, it's from a song on his solo record - "If not here, where do we belong?" I wish I'd written that! Love it.
In terms of rants... I always loved his mini-verse:
Pride would never set foot in paradise, would it?
And beauty will save the world, won't it?
And enthusiasm does conquer all, doesn't it?

I should also mention, since we're talking about Gord's rants...before The Wherewithal on ARA Lansdowne, he says "I was reading in guns and ammo magazine..." before cutting himself off to ask the crowd how they're doing. Then he starts off on something completely unrelated.
I always wondered what the rest of that rant was supposed to be. Woulda been a good one!
Do you think it's related to the gun rant where he starts talking about "how you need more practise doing this than you need to fire a gun...it's blue, it's shiny, I got it in Detroit...I have this overwhelming urge to use it, what'd I buy it for?!"
