This seems like a safe place to ask these questions. I am at the brain storm idea of a project. I have some copyright questions....

Does the band copyright their likeness? For example is Gord Downie copyrighted?
Can I use a photo that I took and credit myself or someone else who took a photo and credit them (with permission)?
Are venues posters copyrighted? Handbill for example.
Are ticket stubs copyrighted?
Are the setlists that the band made for each show copyrighted?

I'm not an expert, but I would guess that anything to do with the band's name, music, likeness, logos, lyrics, song/album titles, album covers, and official posters are likely copyrighted.

Venue posters (the ones they design and print themselves) probably aren't. Same with ticket stubs and setlists.

If you have a photo that you took personally, I'm thinking you can probably do whatever you want with it. It's your photo.

All that being said, I would maybe do some research on copyrighting or contact the band's representatives to make sure. I suppose it all depends on what kind of project you're doing.

Yea, but a lot of the time with setlists, the song title is shortened, such as: Gift, Spring, Blow, Escape, etc... I assume only the full title as it appears on an album cover would be copyrighted. Like I said though, I'm not an expert, so who knows?
