The Weakest Link - Bronze Medallists - Round 11
#1

With Flamenco being eliminated, we're down to just four songs remaining!

5 - Flamenco
6 - It's A Good Life If You Don't Weaken
7 - 38 Years Old
8 - The Kids Don't Get It
9 - We Want To Be It
10 - The Depression Suite
11 - If New Orleans Is Beat
12 - What Blue
13 - Stay
14 - Last American Exit

Vote for the song you think is weakest amongst the remaining third place finishers. After 48 hours, the song with the most votes will be eliminated. In the event of a tie, both (or more) song will be eliminated.

This poll will end Saturday 10:16pm Eastern.

Happy voting,

Shane

Pigeon Camera has hung around too long, although I think I am struck less by the fact that it is faring so well in this particular poll (where I think probably only Good Life should be in the final four in its stead), and more by the fact that it managed to finish with the Bronze medal in the Fully Completely Poll.

Burn your boots; you are the bird.

I keep waffling what to do with Poets. Initially, I just didn't connect with it and it was perhaps in my bottom 2 or 3 songs on PP (and I love that album). Just didn't really care whether I did or didn't hear about what the poets are doing, I guess. "Lava flowing in superfarmer's direction" and "To the pink amid the withered cornstalks in them winter regions" are interesting lyrics but somewhat esoteric even by Gord's standards. While his lyrics were often ambiguous, I could often have some meaning that I associated with them, even it was wrong. I have a hard time understanding what the first two verses of this song are about beyond maybe there's a reference to something about global warming. I don't really know.

But, I've changed my tune on Poets in recent years and have come to really appreciate its riff and I loved hearing it live (heard it at my last two concerts in London, including 2016, and it was rocking both times). I've always loved the other songs though, so I'm having a hard time choosing between them and the one that I had a more uneven history with.

Poets is definitely my favorite of the remaining songs! I haven’t voted yet this round, deciding between Pigeon Camera and Scared.

Poets one vote away from being eliminated is an absolute crime. This poll better be closed.

** PHEW. I though the poll ran until 10:16 PM, but it appears that was a typo. **
