Quick thoughts on the remaining songs...
In A World Possessed By The Human Mind - Solid song. Favourite part is the 'god rustling around in the bushes' bit. Great lyric and the accompanying instrumentation throughout fits perfectly.
What Blue - Another solid song and a mighty fine love song to boot. Great lyrics -- but I do find Johnny's snare a little hot in the mix. It distract me.
In Sarnia - I'm a big fan - and I agree with what's been said in the last poll. A visceral vocal performance that upon early listens had me wishing Gord would just deliver a more traditional performance here...but my love quickly grew and the visceral performance became the song's strength for me. I loved hearing Gord sing this live on the MMP tour. "IN MY POCKET...AND IN MY EYESSS...IN MY BLOOD...SARNIAAA!"
Here, In The Dark - Love the groove here. Sinclair and Langlois are on point! I often wonder what this song would sound like if the last verse ("Ok, here it is, the chaotic first sip of loneliness/The flame that flicks and pretty soon I want more of it/ The happiness and its' restlessness/ Me, I'm as happy as my least happy kid") was sung instead of the quiet/talking delivery we hear. I don't dislike this ending -- gotta love Paul's "Ahh ahh ahh ah"s -- but what if these lines were sung louder, and the song had a punctuated cold ending instead of a soft fade out. I think I just love these lyrics so much it seems unfair to bury them under whispers.
Machine - What can I add that hasn't already been said here. Machine is a beast. Follow?
I guess Here, In The Dark get my vote this round.

Happy to see Sarnia survive round 3, but I'm gonna have to reluctantly vote for it this time. Those other four songs are just too damn strong.

Sarnia should have gone out before Ocean Next, but these remaining songs (less Sarnia) represent a really good half album; too bad the rest of the songs for MMP don't measure up. MMP is a lot like M@W, imo, with a few really strong songs with a fair amount of material that doesn't quite add up to their usual standards.

Goodbye Sarnia. I feel in time this will become a top three song for most people. That opening bassline is undeniable...then the acoustic kicks in...then GD's soaring vocal...it's pretty near a perfect song for me. I think GD got a bit lazy on the second half but still an amazing song. I feel once people have more time to digest, it will rise.
