With the holidays, I'm guessing there will be several people who have been checking in on the Weakest Link threads who will be busy and unable to vote. Therefore, let's look at Live Between Us at this point and then in January we will return to the studio releases.
Vote for the song you believe to be the weakest on Live Between Us and after 48 hours, we will remove the three songs that have the most votes. As before, a song must have at least 10% of the vote in order to be removed otherwise it will carry forward into the following round.
The poll will end Friday at 11:56am Eastern.

This task requires a slightly different mindset. Just thinking out loud... does a good live performance of a weaker song win out over a weaker live performance of a good song? How much does the performance count, and how much are we voting on the song itself?

This requires a completely different hemisphere of my brain.
My first vote is going to be for Gift Shop because I cannot think of anything particularly memorable about this version on LBU. And does this mean Courage is going to win the whole thing because of the Montreal tease?? Grace wins for the Rheostatics shout out? Can Twist My Arm hang on for a couple of rounds solely for the "Sorry, girl" adlib? Or Springtime in Vienna only for the "We call this one Springtime in Vienna" intro?

Throughout this exercise I have been listening to the albums and strictly basing it off of that.

Voted Gift Shop. The Hip have never been able to capture the magic of the studio version in a live setting, and the version on this album is just "meh".

Wow...the champion is going to be tough to pick. Grace and Nautical are monsters on this album; there is a ferociousness to both of them that was beautifully captured that night. But I think the version of ABAC might be the best version I've ever heard, even better than the album version. Those are my top three, but for now, probably going to vote NOIS off first, just because it's a live version of NOIS that just goes through the motions.

All it would have taken was an epic Gord rant in the middle or NOIS and it would easily walk away as the winner. I felt that's where this live album missed out, it didn't really capture the true essence of a Hip concert. Gord seemed a bit subdued in ways, nervous of being live recorded for a release maybe?
It was so normal for them to just get lost in NOIS and you never knew where it was going. A new song? A cover? An insane story? It seemed the band was starting to go that way, but Gord just went a little ways then reeled it back in. A missed opportunity to capture the real Hip live.
