Watching Secret Path on TV a few months ago was emotional and cut right through you. Watching it live, with the Wenjack family in the audience, it was just 100x the same affect. I don't know how someone could listen to "Seven Matches" or "Here, Here, and Here" without getting a tear in their eye. Powerful stuff music is.

If you took all Gord's health issues, the MMP finale tour, just erased everything from the past year and a half in regards to all that was going on, the Secret Path has to be one of the most poignant , career defining pieces Gord has ever done.

I couldn't make it to one of the SP shows as I was out of country, but I feel like I missed a piece of Canadian history now.

I was able to attend the Ottawa show and it was very special, and it touched me.
Only problem was that they asked the audience not to clap between songs, and what happens? ... People just screaming out "I love you Gord" between songs. This was not a Hip concert, and unfortunately there were some who felt the need to shout out things. Some just didn't get the seriousness or meaning of it all. I couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed anytime someone shouted out.
He was there for 1 mission and it needed to be taken seriously.

Well said. I think a lot of people at these shows were there for "The Hip" and not to support the actual cause Gord was fighting for..

This concert was Gord's epitaph. Through his own words and those of brothers Mike and Patrick over the past week, this is the work he wanted to be remembered for, and it should stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Kingston show. I attended the Secret Path shows in both Toronto and Halifax (which now stands as his last concert performance) and while it would be nigh impossible to capture the emotion in the room, this film does a tremendous job. The focus on the band was kept to a minimum and the attention was placed on Gord and every pained and tortured look on face as he poured his heart into this performance.

I loved every minute of LTR, but the singing at times was inconsistent in quality (for example, Blow at High Dough is rough while the sound check for Morning Moon is stunningly beautiful). In contrast, this Secret Path performance is a 500 ft homerun. Gord absolutely crushes it with a singing performance as sensational as anything he's done in the past 15 years. I could watch this over and over again and get the same goosebumps every time. It's an emotionally meaningful performance on several levels and it deserves to be recognized as an all-time classic performance piece.

Agreed. It was a stunning performance. Easily Gord's best vocal performance since the '09 WATS tour.
